Privacy policy

In short. halfway has no accounts and never asks who you are. Your game stays on your phone. If the app crashes, a crash report goes to Google’s Firebase Crashlytics so the bug can be fixed. An ad only plays when you tap “watch a short ad”, and Google’s own consent screen asks for your choices first. If you buy the optional supporter pack, Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see it.
1. What stays on your device
Your scores, keepsakes, unlocked worlds and characters, letters, settings, daily streak and — if you bought it — the supporter flag are saved inside the app on your phone or tablet.
- Purpose: to remember your game between sessions.
- Who receives it: nobody. We have no server and the app never sends your save anywhere.
- How long: until you delete the app (or clear its data). If your device’s own backup is turned on (iCloud Backup on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android), the save is part of that backup, which Apple or Google keeps under your account, not us.
2. Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics, by Google)
When the app crashes, it sends a crash report the next time it starts.
- What is sent
- where in the app’s code the crash happened (a stack trace), the device model, the operating system version, the app version, free memory and disk space at the time, and a random installation identifier created by Firebase for this copy of the app. No name, no e-mail, no advertising identifier, no game save and no log of what you did.
- Purpose
- to find and fix crashes. Nothing else.
- Who receives it
- Google, as the provider of Firebase Crashlytics, on our behalf (Firebase privacy and security).
- How long
- Firebase keeps crash reports and their identifiers for 90 days, then starts removing them from its live and backup systems.
- Your choices
- Crash reports carry nothing that identifies you. Deleting the app stops them and resets the installation identifier.
3. Ads (Google AdMob)
halfway offers short rewarded ads: a second chance, doubled keepsakes or a small daily extra, each only when you tap “watch a short ad”. There are no banners and no ads that play on their own. Watching one supports the people who made the game.
- Before any ad: after your first game, the app opens Google’s consent tool (the User Messaging Platform). Where the law asks for it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), it shows a consent form first. On iPhone and iPad it also shows Apple’s “Allow tracking?” question. The ads software starts only after this step, and only if ads may be shown.
- What Google’s ads software collects: your IP address (which gives an approximate location), the device’s advertising identifier if you allow it (on iPhone and iPad only after you tap “Allow” on Apple’s question), information about the ads you see and tap, and performance and diagnostics data. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Purpose: to show the ad you asked for, count it, keep advertising free of fraud and, where you consented, make ads more relevant.
- Who receives it: Google, and the ad partners Google works with, as you allowed in the consent form.
- How long: as set by Google’s own retention rules (Google Privacy Policy, how Google retains data).
- Your choices: the consent form; settings → privacy options in the app, which reopens it whenever the law requires that entry; never tapping “watch a short ad” (the game is complete without ads); on iPhone and iPad, Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads) to reset or delete your advertising ID; and deleting the app.
- Ads are limited to content suitable for general audiences.
4. The supporter pack
An optional, one-time purchase that gives the three ad rewards without an ad. It unlocks no part of the story; everything in the game can be reached without it.
- The App Store or Google Play handles the whole payment. We never see your card, your name or your account.
- The app keeps one “supporter” flag in its save on your device and checks the store’s own record of your purchase when it starts, so settings → restore purchases brings it back on a new device.
- Apple’s and Google’s own privacy policies cover what they keep about your purchase.
5. “keep this moment” (sharing a picture)
At the reunion the app can make a picture of the moment on your device and open your phone’s share sheet. You choose whether and where to send it; the app sends nothing by itself.
6. What halfway never does
- No account, no sign-in, no chat, nothing written by other players.
- No analytics: no tracking of how you play, sent anywhere.
- No location permission, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- We do not sell or rent data, and the app keeps no personal data on any server of ours (there is none).
7. Children
halfway is made for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. If you believe a child under 13 has used it in a way that sent personal information to Google, write to us at support@unijob.com.tr and we will help you ask Google to delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or state laws in the United States), you may ask to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Because we hold no personal data ourselves, the data that exists is on your device (delete the app to remove it) or with Google as described above (use Google’s controls linked above, or write to us at support@unijob.com.tr and we will pass your request on). You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new effective date before it applies.
